How does it work?

The extremely accurate hand held device works by utilizing the voltage in the air between its tip and the natural gasses emitted from our skin; this forms a plasma charge. The small electrical arc is then created and targets your fibrocytes which become reactivated into fibroblasts. This immediately starts the production of collagen and instantly shrinks the targeted skin.

How long does it last?

The effects should last as long as they would with invasive surgery. Like all surgical and cosmetic procedures, the effects of fibroblast are not entirely permanent as it does not stop any further ageing; but the positive results should last years depending on the area treated.

Will there be immediate results?

The positive effects of treatment will be noticeable immediately after the first treatment. Sometimes redness and swelling can occur which can distort the look of the results. You will notice more firmness and tightening of the treated areas as the skin continues to heal and produce more collagen. Skin can continue to tighten sometimes up to 5 months after the initial procedure.

Is this procedure safe?

Yes, it is. Plasma skin tightening is an innovative state of the art product made in Germany. It is certified by European CE. This means product meets high safety, health and environmental protection requirements. It is quickly becoming a number one choice for those looking into a non-surgical skin lift.

How many treatments are required?

The number of treatments required will vary according to the area being treated, skin's laxity, the desired degree of correction and the individual’s response to the treatment. Most clients see results instantly and this continues to improve over the course of the following 8 weeks. Further treatments can be carried out to get better results, although it is uncommon to require more than two treatments. Appointments must be spaced out by 6-8 weeks.

What is the downtime afterwards?

It completely depends on the client, the area treated and the natural rate of recovery. There will be small dry spots that will form which are called carbon crusts. These will flake off typically between 3-10 days revealing new pink skin beneath. Swelling in the eye area is to be expected for a few days following an upper eyelid treatment. Please keep this in mind when booking. Aftercare topicals will be provided to achieve optimal results.

Does this treatment hurt?

Fibroblast is non-surgical treatment with no pain or minimal discomfort reported by patients. A triple-anesthetic gel containing benzocaine, lidocaine, and tetracaine (“BLT”)  is applied to numb treated area prior to procedure. Immediately after the treatment the skin will be reddened and lightly swollen. It will feel a little like a sunburn, a cold compress can be applied 3 hours after the procedure has finished.

Side effects and risks?

This procedure has been shown to be safe due to its non-invasive nature when done by a fully certified technician. Still the majority of clients are likely to experience some minor side effects in the 7-10 days following treatment.

There will be small carbon crusts (little polkadots) in the treated area that will last 3-10 days before naturally lifting, revealing new pink skin beneath. Some swelling will be seen (especially in cases of eyelid treatment), but it is likely to only last 3-5 days at most.

To avoid any more serious side effects such as hyperpigmentation, follow the aftercare recommendations given to you by your technician.

Specific after care recommendations?

It is very important to follow your after care recommendations. Carbon crusts CANNOT be scratched or removed. Cold compresses may be applied to reduce the swelling. If the swelling is more severe, an anti-inflammatory medication and/or anti-histamine may help alleviate the swelling. Drying skin by dabbing with a clean, lint-free cloth is allowed. Healing skin should be protected from direct sun with SPF50 cream. Sports, swimming and sauna are not permitted until crusts fall off. This should happen within 7 days of procedure.

Use of makeup after procedure?

The treated skin area will be covered with carbon crusts which form during the treatment. They should not be rubbed off therefore it is necessary to avoid any moisturizing creams for 5-7 days.
